Eric Washburn is an experienced Virginia Beach personal injury attorney with dual licensure in Virginia and North Carolina. Eric has spent the majority of his life calling Virginia’s Hampton Roads region his home. He graduated from Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School, presently located in Virginia Beach. Eric attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and graduated with a B.B.A. in Finance. Following several years of working in the information technology field, Eric aspired to become a lawyer and obtained his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

Early in his legal career, Eric served the citizens of Danville, Virginia as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney (prosecutor) where he gained invaluable trial experience in all types of serious criminal matters. Eric relocated to Virginia Beach and began practicing plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice law. He takes great pride in protecting the rights of his clients and making sure they are fully compensated for their injuries.

Eric is recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Rising Star” Super Lawyer in Virginia (since 2014). This is an honor reserved for those lawyers who exhibit excellence in their practice of law. Only 2.5% of attorneys in Virginia receive this distinction. He is also an active member in the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Virginia Beach Bar Association.

Community Activities

Actively involved in his community, Eric currently sits on the Board of Directors for Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School.
